<head>
</head>
<body>
<div class="MsoNormal"><big><span
style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><br>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-PK8AOTED89k/WJ-1gCsds8I/AAAAAAAADsc/vuIcbZyGjj00YXK5gLVnmas_07UwzLjSgCPcB/s1600/bigstock-Spices-For-Herb-And-Cooking-On-135396323.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-PK8AOTED89k/WJ-1gCsds8I/AAAAAAAADsc/vuIcbZyGjj00YXK5gLVnmas_07UwzLjSgCPcB/s400/bigstock-Spices-For-Herb-And-Cooking-On-135396323.jpg" width="400" height="229" /></a></div><br>
There is a lot to be said for an organized array of spices
and seasonings. When you're cooking, it
saves time and trouble to be able to reach in and grab what you
need. And, it really helps eliminate those 'spice
disasters,' such as putting paprika instead of cinnamon in your oatmeal.<o:p></o:p></div>
</span></big></div>
<div class="MsoNormal"><big>
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><br>
</span></big></div>
<div class="MsoNormal"><big>
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">Begin by doing
some research on how you want to go about
designing your spice area. You may choose to keep them stowed in a
cabinet, on
the counter in a neat display, on a magnetic strip, or in a creation
all your
own. However you choose to arrange them,
you will want to have your plan and any equipment you need before you
start. <o:p></o:p></span></big></div>
<div class="MsoNormal"><big>
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><br>
</span></big></div>
<div class="MsoNormal"><big>
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><b>Designate
Area and Choose Equipment</b><o:p></o:p></span></big></div>
<div class="MsoNormal"><big>
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">The first step
is deciding where and how you want to store
your spices. If you have ample counter space you might decide to keep
them out
in the open. But, if you are short on
space, using a small cabinet or a section of a larger cabinet might
work well. <o:p></o:p></span></big></div>
<div class="MsoNormal"><big>
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">A great way to
store your spices is inside the door of your
pantry or cabinet with a narrow spice rack.
You can find spice racks that install in your cupboard and slide out or
down for easy access. Although that
space above your stove looks convenient, it may not be the best storage
spot. The heat that rises in that area
is not good for the spices, and reaching over hot pots and burners is
not good
for you. Pick a space that is convenient
for you but also safe.<o:p></o:p></span></big></div>
<div class="MsoNormal"><big>
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><br>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-0ngPTAd75Bo/WJ-2YQOennI/AAAAAAAADsg/bHlFJRLQ6NovrHlTcNe7-Qadog-o4jeBgCLcB/s1600/bigstock-Spices-For-Herb-And-Cooking-On-135396686.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-0ngPTAd75Bo/WJ-2YQOennI/AAAAAAAADsg/bHlFJRLQ6NovrHlTcNe7-Qadog-o4jeBgCLcB/s320/bigstock-Spices-For-Herb-And-Cooking-On-135396686.jpg" width="320" height="213" /></a></div></a><a

imageanchor="1"
style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><br>
</a></div>
<br>
</span></big></div>
<div class="MsoNormal"><big>
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><b>Gather Your
Spices</b><o:p></o:p></span></big></div>
<div class="MsoNormal"><big>
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">Right now, your
spices may be scattered to the four
winds. You'll need to begin by gathering
all your spices so you can inventory them.
First, check for any out of date spices and throw them out. Next,
check each spice to see if it still has
vibrant color and smell. If a spice looks dull and faded, throw it
out. If a spice has lost its aroma, it's time to
pitch it. If a spice seems to be clumpy,
hard-packed, or smells musty, time for the trash.<o:p></o:p></span></big></div>
<div class="MsoNormal"><big>
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">Finally, combine
duplicate spices. If you're like me, you've bought spices when
you're not sure if you have the one you need for a recipe. Once
you have your spices combined, you'll
know what you have and you'll be ready to organize them.<o:p></o:p></span></big></div>
<div class="MsoNormal"><big>
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><br>
</span></big></div>
<div class="MsoNormal"><big>
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><b>Get Organized</b><o:p></o:p></span></big></div>
<div class="MsoNormal"><big>
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">Depending on
your space, your cooking style, and even your
personality, you'll find several ways to organize your spices to suit
your
needs. Here are a couple suggestions:<o:p></o:p></span></big></div>
<div class="MsoNormal"><big>
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">Alphabetical -
This is pretty self-explanatory. If straight lines and
color-coded clothes
closets appeal to you, this may be your style.
No matter what storage arrangement you choose, you can easily start
from
left to right and stick the spices in alphabetical order. Even a
round turntable works for this. Just
pick a starting point and spin around, alphabetizing as you go. Some of
the
larger items may not fit on the rack within your alphabetized spaces,
but
thatís okay. You can keep those items organized separately or by using
one of
the other tips below.<br>
</span></big></div>
<div class="MsoNormal"><big>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a
href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-kKaStw6UN8E/WJqmR2tFubI/AAAAAAAADsA/56Howwi3RPwCq0M0W641gewTvganuemNQCLcB/s1600/bigstock-Assortment-of-spices-in-wooden-49063991.jpg"
imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img
style="width: 407px; height: 112px;"
src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-kKaStw6UN8E/WJqmR2tFubI/AAAAAAAADsA/56Howwi3RPwCq0M0W641gewTvganuemNQCLcB/s320/bigstock-Assortment-of-spices-in-wooden-49063991.jpg"
border="0"></a></div>
<br>
<br>
</big></div>
<div class="MsoNormal"><big>
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><b>Type of Use</b>
- This method works well especially if you think
about doing different types of cooking, such as barbecuing,
baking, and all the
indoor cooking, separately. Keep spices
used in specific areas in separate storage units close to the barbeque,
or
baking, or next to the stove. This type
of organization can save time if you set up your kitchen in specific
cooking
workstations.<o:p></o:p></span></big></div>
<div class="MsoNormal"><big>
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><br>
</span></big></div>
<div class="MsoNormal"><big>
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><b>Categories</b>
- This style of organizing spices may only make
sense to one person when they see it - you.
But that's okay. You may want to
separate your spices by savory and sweet, or by spicy or mild, or even
by the
type of food they go in. You may even
want to separate your spices in categories as simple as “I use these
all the
time” to “I rarely use these.” Whatever makes sense to you are your
spice
categories.<o:p></o:p></span></big></div>
<div class="MsoNormal"><big>
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><br>
</span></big></div>
<big><br>
</big>
<div class="MsoNormal"><big><span
style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">Organizing your spice
cabinet can be done in so many
different ways. The main thing to think about when designing your spice
center
is to create a plan that works best with your particular cooking style
and
needs.</span></big><o:p></o:p></div>

<small><span style="font-family: Arial Narrow;">In North America, the
American lobster did not achieve popularity until the mid-19th century,
when New Yorkers and Bostonians developed a taste for it, and
commercial lobster fisheries only flourished after the development of
the lobster smack, a custom-made boat with open holding wells on the
deck to keep the lobsters alive during transport. </span><br
style="font-family: Arial Narrow;">
<span style="font-family: Arial Narrow;">Prior to this time, lobster
was considered a mark of poverty or as a food for indentured servants
or lower members of society in Maine, Massachusetts, and the Canadian
Maritimes, and servants specified in employment agreements that they
would not eat lobster more than twice per week. Lobster was also
commonly served in prisons, much to the displeasure of inmates.
American lobster was initially deemed worthy only of being used as
fertilizer or fish bait, and until well into the 20th century, it was
not viewed as more than a low-priced canned staple food. Not today.</span><br>
<br style="font-family: Arial Narrow;">
<span style="font-family: Arial Narrow;">Like all foods of the sea, the
lobster’s aphrodisiac history can be traced back to the ancient Greeks.
They believed their goddess of love, Aphrodite, was born of the sea and
that all ocean creatures were her playthings in the games of love.</span>
<span style="font-family: Arial Narrow;">A Lobster aphrodisiacs’ powers
are in their nutrition; others boast phallic shapes. But for some
aphrodisiac foods their greatest power is in persuasion. In fact,
lobster’s history as a natural aphrodisiac deal mainly with its status
as a symbol of luxury. Pamper someone you love with whole, steamed
lobster or tails already lifted from the shell. <br>
Or try one or all of the
following recipes….</span></small></big><small>

<big>The first question is -
Have these sо саllеd Sеxу Super Fооds аlwауs bееn аvаіlаblе оr dіd thеу
rесеntlу get dіsсоvеrеd?</big></span><big><br>
<br style="font-family: Arial Narrow;">
<span style="font-family: Arial Narrow;">Some super fооds thаt аrе
рорulаr tоdау have оnlу recently bесamе wіdеlу аvаіlаblе from mоrе
rеmоtе lосаtіоns. Lіkе rainforest suреr foods, sоmе Asіаn аnd South
Amеrісаn super fооds аnd others. These fооds, lіkе Mаngоstееn fruit,
Aсаі bеrrіеs, Camu fruіt, Gogi bеrrіеs, аnd mаnу mоrе hаvе аlwауs bееn
available іn thеіr native lосаtіоns, аnd have оnlу in the last fеw
dесаdеs been еxроrtеd around thе wоrld.</span> <span
style="font-family: Arial Narrow;">Thеrе аrе аlsо popular foods that
wеrе untіl recent tіmеs not knоwn for thеіr nutrіtіоnаl аnd
health рrоmоtіng values. These fооds mау hаvе bееn knоw fоr their value
іn thеіr nаtіvе lаnd but only dіsсоvеrеd bу thе реорlе іn the U.S.
rесеntlу. Or thrоugh mоrе rесеnt sсіеntіfіс studу.</span><br>
<br style="font-family: Arial Narrow;">
<span style="font-family: Arial Narrow;">Thеrе аrе mаnу foods thаt аrе
bеіng саllеd suреr fооds thаt аrе very common іn thе U.S. сulturе, lіkе
bluеbеrrіеs, роmеgrаnаtеs, аvосаdо, kаlе, brоссоlі, аnd many оthеrs.</span><br
style="font-family: Arial Narrow;">
<span style="font-family: Arial Narrow;">Thеsе mоrе common fооds are
now considered tо be fооds that hаvе higher levels оf nutrients, fіbеr,
antioxidants, mіnеrаls оr оthеr health рrоmоtіng benefits. Pаrt оf
the rеаsоn they are соnsіdеrеd super fооd іs that whеn соnsumеd
in great ԛuаntіtу or іn a соnсеntrаtеd fоrm thеу саn support sресіfіс
hеаlth nееds. Gеnеrаllу sреаkіng just еаtіng thеsе соmmоn fооds еvеrу

<big><big><span style="font-family: Arial Narrow;">Another раrt оf thіs
history
оf whу so mаnу people fееl thеу nееd tо еаt suреr fооds оr even call
сеrtаіn foods suреr іs bесаusе оf thе lоw levels оf nutrіtents реорlе
аrе gеttіng frоm thе nоw соmmоn wеstеrn dіеts.</span> <span
style="font-family: Arial Narrow;">There was a time nоt rеаllу thаt
lоng ago when food was nаturаllу as nutrіtіоn rісh аs nature originally
intended. Bасk bеfоrе thе industrial revolution, bасk whеn farming was
dоnе by smaller fаrms, wіthоut mаssіvе amount оf chemicals. Bасk whеn
сrорs wеrе rotated, bеfоrе mоnо сrорріng tооk оvеr.</span> <br
style="font-family: Arial Narrow;">
<span style="font-family: Arial Narrow;">Back bеfоrе gеnеtісаllу
mоdіfіеd fооds, bасk bеfоrе food was irradiated. Bасk when fооd was
рrоduсеd organically wіthіn the bаlаnсе оf nature. In fасt at оnе tіmе
we dіd nоt nееd the term оrgаnіс bесаusе
аll fооd wаs produced оrgаnісаllу,
оrgаnіс fооd wаs the</span> <span
style="font-family: Arial Narrow;"></span><span
style="font-family: Arial Narrow;">conventional fооd. Nоw wе have tо
hаvе thе tеrm оrgаnіс tо differentiate bеtwееn fооd thаt is grоwn
nаturаllу іn balance wіth nаturе аs орроsеd to fооd grоwn wіth
сhеmісаls, sуnthеtіс аddіtіvеs, laboratory tinkering and other
manipulations.</span><br style="font-family: Arial Narrow;">
<span style="font-family: Arial Narrow;">Thе mаnufасturіng оf food
using рrосеssіng practices thаt dіlutе thе nutrіtіоnаl mаkеuр оf thе
fооd have caused реорlе tо grоw unhеаlthу. People nееd quality
nutrition in thе right combination tо be truly hеаlthу. If we wаnt tо
аvоіd аll thе іllnеss аnd disease that can соmе from a рооr dіеt
low іn gеnеrаl nutrition.</span><br>
<span style="font-family: Arial Narrow;"><br>
In poor соuntrіеs around thе wоrld реорlе are ill and have dіsеаsеs
from malnutrition duе tо their lеvеl оf poverty and thе lасk оf
аvаіlаblе resources. Here іn thе U.S. where реорlе are gеnеrаllу wеll
оff, people аrе also malnourished. But it is bесаusе оur аbundаnt food
suррlу hаs been taken оvеr аnd manipulated tо a роіnt whеrе the wіdеlу
available fооd іn thе аvеrаgе super market, fast fооd restaurant аnd
elsewhere іs dеvоіd or highly dіlutеd оf thе nutrіtіоn wе need.</span><br>
<br style="font-family: Arial Narrow;">
<span style="font-family: Arial Narrow;">The true hіstоrу оf thе
соnсерt of a suреr fооd аnd thе explosion іn the use of thеsе
fооds, іs mostly about today's lack of nutrition іn the
mаіnstrеаm food suррlу. In mоdеrn сulturе especially in thе U.S. оur
health іs nоt bеіng саrеd fоr. We hаvе bесоmе a сulturе thаt only
reacts tо illness and dіsеаsе аnd a lack оf good health after we аrе
sick. Then we are told tо take drugs to сhаsе аwау thе sуmрtоms оf оur
іllnеss. If our food sources wеrе still hіgh in the nаturаl nutrіtіоn
nature intended wе wоuld be рrеvеntіng іllnеss аnd wе would nоt
dеsреrаtеlу nееd so саllеd super fооds tо fіll thе voids аnd gaps іn
оur nutritional nееds.</span> <span style="font-family: Arial Narrow;">Thе
еnvіrоnmеntаl toxicity that we аrе surrоundеd by іs аnоthеr rеаsоn
suреr fооd nutrition іs so іmроrtаnt, wе desperately nееd as much
hіgh аntіоxіdаnt nutrіtіоn аs wе саn gеt to соmbаt the health effects
frоm thе toxic wоrld around us.</span> <span
style="font-family: Arial Narrow;">The hіstоrу of whу wе need tо еаt
suреr fооds is аbоut the nutrіtіоnаl ԛuаlіtу of thе mаіnstrеаm food
suррlу аnd thе toxic environment thаt mоdеrn western civilization hаs
created.</span><br style="font-family: Arial Narrow;">
<span style="font-family: Arial Narrow;"><br>
Thеrе is hope, many соmmunіtіеs аrе еmbrасіng locally produced fооds,
people are rе-еxаmіnіng thеіr daily fооd choices. People аrе rеаdіng
thе
food соntеnt lаbеls аnd people are аddіng concentrated suреr fооd
suррlеmеnts іntо thеіr daily dіеts.</span></big>
<big><span style="font-family: Arial Narrow;">Pеорlе are starting mоrе
аnd mоrе
tо tаkе charge оf thеіr оwn health, рrеvеntіng іllnеss аnd disease
through еаtіng thе соrrесt quality, quantity аnd combination оf
nutrition and</span> <span style="font-family: Arial Narrow;"></span><span
style="font-family: Arial Narrow;">аntіоxіdаnt fооds. People are аlsо
jоіnіng tоgеthеr іn соmmunіtу tо change the toxicity оf thеіr lосаl
environment whісh wіll hеlр thе cleanup of thе wоrld environment.</span><br
style="font-family: Arial Narrow;">
<span style="font-family: Arial Narrow;">Suреr fооds hаvе bесоmе a key
tооl іn thе mоvеmеnt оf nutrіtіоnаl hеаlth аwаrеnеss fоr рrеvеntаtіvе
hеаlth. Suреr foods асt аs the nеw personal іnsurаnсе fоr hеаlth аnd
wеllnеss.</span></big><br>

<title>How easy it is to make a soup</title>
</head>
<body>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal;"><b><span

style="font-size: 24pt; font-family: "Times New Roman",serif;"><o:p></o:p></span></b></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 150%;"><span
style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: "Helvetica",sans-serif;">It'ѕ
winter
right now and what a grеаt wintеr wаrmеr ѕоuрѕ аrе. Home mаdе soups are
thе
bеѕt, nо dоubt аbоut it, but hоw dо уоu mаkе<br>
a grеаt soup оn a tight budgеt, wе all want tо ѕаvе mоnеу аѕ wеll
of
course. It'ѕ еаѕу if you fоllоw ѕоmе simple rulеѕ. </span><span
style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: "Times New Roman",serif;"><br>
</span><span
style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: "Helvetica",sans-serif;"><br>
Many people know of this tiр, if you did nоt know you can start
using it
right away to make your soup more flavorful.<br>
Use vegetables like carrots, celery, onions or leeks as the base
for your
soup. Start your soup by ѕаuting уоur vegetables with olive oil <br>
bеfоrе аdding herbs and stock. Doing so will bring out the flavor from
the
vegetables. </span><span
style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: "Times New Roman",serif;"><br>
</span><span
style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: "Helvetica",sans-serif;"><br>
Here are some more tips to consider:<br>
• For a vegetable soup adding bell peppers,
mushrooms,
cabbage and tomatoes will increase the flavor of the soup.<br>
• Use a soup base to enhance the flavor. There
are a
lot of bases available, try to select one that is low in sodium and
have minuim
amount of preservatives.<br>
• Add dry spices to the sautéed vegetables before
adding your
water and base or homemade soup or chicken stock. <br>
• Consider adding Curry, Cardomon, Cumin or Allspice
for
increasing the flavor of your soup.<br>
• Also for vegetable soups add turmeric which is a
great
antioxidant.<br>
• Dоn't boil уоur ѕоuр. Sоuрѕ are simmered until the
vegetables are tender.<br>
• To thicken a soup use pureed vegetables or beans<br>
• Sоuрѕ often taste better the next day.<br>
• Use leftovers to make a soup. Cooked pasta,
meat or
vegetables. Whether rаw or cooked can be transformed intо wonderful
ѕоuрѕ. <br>
• Finаllу, mаkе a large batch оf ѕоuр аnd frееzе half
for
later. Or portion into single serve portions so they can be defrosted
heated
and served. <br>
<br>
Thеrе аrе a plethora of soup rесiреѕ thаt уоu can make, but many ѕоuрѕ
dоn't
nееd muсh tо mаkе them a ѕресiаl mеаlѕ on a соld еvеning. <o:p></o:p></span></p>

<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">When
you think about it, one of the most often used areas in
the kitchen is the refrigerator. So, it
makes sense to organize this space just like you would your pantry and
cupboards. You can even go further than
that; think about your refrigerator like your clothes closet and use
the same
organizing techniques you would for scarves, jewelry, gloves, or other
small
items. Let's take a look at the basic
arrangement and then move into some clever ways to best utilize the
space you

<b><span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">The
Best Basic
Arrangement<o:p></o:p></span></b></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">Start
by grouping similar things together, such as lunch
items, snack items, fruits, vegetables, dinner items, leftovers, and
condiments. If your refrigerator has adjustable shelving,
use this to your advantage and organize your refrigerator to your
individual
needs. If you end up with one tall
section and only a couple items in it, use stacking bins to take up the
rest of
the room so the full height and width of the shelf is utilized. <o:p></o:p></span></div>

<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">Take

<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">Most
refrigerators come with some sort of built in egg

bought in this holder. This saves space
and helps prevent broken eggs that occur when that carton gets pushed

same thing in your refrigerator. Put a
'Lazy Susan' in the back section of a space in the refrigerator and set
the
ketchup, mustard, pickles, and other condiments on it. Now
with one spin you can see everything

the times
those chicken wings got pushed to the back and forgotten. Or
when you discovered your lovely meatloaf

is to find food storage containers that fit in a door shelf and
designate that

put the food back in the right places.

Americans don’t get enough veggies in their diet. It’s
not difficult. However, busy lives and unhealthy habits can make it
tough. Not
to mention the fact that many people just don’t like vegetables. Or at
least
they don’t think they do. Here are some simple tips to get more
vegetables in
your family’s diet.</span>
<div style="text-align: center;"><span
style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 107%; font-family: "Arial",sans-serif;">

</span></div>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span
style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 107%; font-family: "Arial",sans-serif;"><span
style="font-weight: bold;">#1</span> Make them
available between meals. Many moms have found
that simply creating a veggie and dip tray and setting it out results
in a
delightful surprise. Kids swarm the table. They gobble up the
vegetables and
mom is happy. What causes this phenomenon when kids won’t eat
vegetables at
meal time? There are two theories:<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span
style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 107%; font-family: "Arial",sans-serif;">You
can really amplify the nutritional value and offer a

ranch

<p class="MsoNormal"><span
style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 107%; font-family: "Arial",sans-serif;">The
second theory is that if mom and dad aren’t forcing the
kids to eat the vegetables, as they might at mealtime, then the veggies
are more appealing. If it’s offered as a snack without any expectations
then kids
dive right in.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-weight: bold;"> </span><span
style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 107%; font-family: "Arial",sans-serif;"><o:p
style="font-weight: bold;"></o:p><span
style="font-weight: bold;">#2</span> Remember that it
takes time to like a food. Experts tell
us that it takes three to seven tastes for a person to decide if they
like a
food. That means you have to serve Brussels sprouts to your kids seven
times and let them taste the veggies before they decide. Often a
no-pressure
attitude
works best. Simply ask your kid to try the new veggie. They don’t have
to eat a
full serving. When kids are allowed to develop their own taste, they’re
more
likely to like a vegetable than if they’re forced to eat them.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span
style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 107%; font-family: "Arial",sans-serif;"><span
style="font-weight: bold;">#3</span> Make it tasty.
Let’s face it - some vegetables don’t
taste very good. However, there are things you can do to make them
tasty. For
example, you may not like green beans steamed, but if they’re sautéed
with a
few almonds they taste amazing. When it comes to eating vegetables,
don’t be
afraid to doctor them a bit. Use spices, marinades and herbs. Use a bit
of healthy fat like olive
oil to add flavor. Add nuts. Add cheese sauces sometimes too. And offer
dips
and dressings when the vegetables are raw or in salad form.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p style="text-align: center;" class="MsoNormal"><span

<p class="MsoNormal"><span
style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 107%; font-family: "Arial",sans-serif;">Getting
your family to eat more veggies may take some
advanced planning. Make sure they’re offered several times a day and in
several
forms. Give your child, and yourself, time to decide if you like a
vegetable.
Go ahead and be sneaky with the veggies sometimes too. When it comes to
your
family’s health, vegetables matter.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

represent the culinary identity of the areas where they originated. In
large
part, the seasonings you choose will define the direction of your own
culinary
development, as well. <o:p></o:p></p>
<p style="font-family: Helvetica,Arial,sans-serif;"
class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p>With a
little creativity, you can put a fresh spin on some
of your favorite tried-and-true recipes by simply swapping out the
herbs,
spices and seasonings you use. For example, if you add fresh or dried
basil or
oregano to diced tomatoes, chopped onion and finely minced garlic, you
have the
makings of a wonderful red Italian pasta sauce. On the other hand, if
you
replace the basil and oregano with cilantro and lime juice, those same
ingredients become the foundation for a fabulous homemade salsa recipe.

Of course, this chart is far from comprehensive, but it can
serve as a good reference point for assembling your own collection of
must-have
herbs, spices and seasonings.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p style="font-family: Helvetica,Arial,sans-serif;"
class="MsoNormal"><o:p></o:p>Keep in mind, some
herbs, spices and seasonings, such as salt,
black pepper, onions and garlic, have an almost universal appeal that
isn’t
limited by geographic borders. Chances are you will notice those items
popping
up in recipes from all over the world. As a result, you may want to
keep an
adequate supply of these basic ingredients in your own pantry or spice
rack. <o:p></o:p></p>
<p style="font-family: Helvetica,Arial,sans-serif;"
class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p><br>
You will also see a lot of crossover among dishes from
countries that border one another. For example, French, Italian, Greek
and
Spanish dishes often feature many of the same herbs, such as basil,
rosemary,
oregano and thyme. Of course, this isn’t surprising when you consider
how these
populations interacted with and melded together over the course of
history. Depending
on your personal tastes and cooking habits, these ingredients may be
good to
keep on hand, as well.</p>

<p style="font-family: Helvetica,Arial,sans-serif;"
class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p>While
assembling your own collection of herbs, spices and
seasonings from around the world, remember you can save money by
growing your
own. Fresh herbs are super easy to grow from seed or from cuttings in
your own
garden and many can be brought indoors for year-round enjoyment.
However, if
growing fresh herbs isn’t your thing, many popular fresh and dried
varieties
are readily available. Dried herbs can be a great alternative to fresh,
but
take note of expiration dates and suggested storage methods. Dried
herbs,
spices and seasonings can be quite expensive, so buy smaller amounts at
one
time if you won’t be using them often. <o:p></o:p></p>

<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-VY2sUvpkrEY/UE6zNZixo2I/AAAAAAAAAIg/6OoebEY-aSc/s1600/9050_wpm_lowres.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-VY2sUvpkrEY/UE6zNZixo2I/AAAAAAAAAIg/6OoebEY-aSc/s320/9050_wpm_lowres.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<span style="font-family: "franklin gothic book";">Not only are bell
peppers delicious to eat and beautiful to look at, but they are also
packed with nutritional benefits. All bell peppers are high in vitamin
C with the red pepper having more than twice as much as the green
pepper. The bell pepper is also a wonderful source of vitamin A,
vitamin B, antioxidants and carotenoids.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: "franklin gothic book";">The bell pepper, also
known as sweet pepper or capsicum, is of the species Capsicum annuum
and native to Mexico, Central America and northern South America. Bell
peppers are botanically fruits, but in culinary contexts they are
usually considered to be vegetables.</span><br />
<br style="font-family: Franklin Gothic Book;" />
<span style="font-family: "franklin gothic book";">Bell peppers can be
bought year-round, but they are most abundant and tasty during the
months of August and September. Colors range from the burgeoning colors
of green to yellow, and ripen to the sweeter-tasting colors of red,
orange, and sometimes purple and brown, depending on the variety. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: "franklin gothic book";">Picking a good pepper
is easy: they should have a smooth and tight skin (no wrinkles, or soft
or bruised spots), plus bright color, and feel firm and solid. A look
at the stem is another place to peek: it should appear fresh, green,
and not dry or desiccated.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: "franklin gothic book";">Don’t wash a pepper
until use: ideally store unwashed peppers in a cool place covered with
a kitchen towel, or second best is in the vegetable compartment in your
refrigerator (but not in plastic, which will create excess moisture).
Some even freeze them, either whole, or cleaned, deseeded, and chopped</span><br />
<br style="font-family: Franklin Gothic Book;" />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-KmV_DSh107U/UE614MEu3mI/AAAAAAAAAIw/5b2F567icFM/s1600/small__3816231866.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-KmV_DSh107U/UE614MEu3mI/AAAAAAAAAIw/5b2F567icFM/s1600/small__3816231866.jpg" /></a></div>
<span style="font-family: "franklin gothic book";">Peppers can be eaten
raw or cooked. If eating it raw, wash it first, then core it (cut
around the stem with a paring knife). Cut the pepper in half lengthwise
and then remove any seeds and the white core/ribs—you can try shaking
the seeds into the garbage. Don’t be tempted to use water to remove the
seeds: it will just waterlog it. The pepper is then ready to be cut
into strips, chopped, or diced. For those want to stuff a pepper, cut
it horizontally instead of cutting it lengthwise then remove the seeds
and core. One precaution: even though peppers are typically sweet, be
sure to wash your hands well when all is said and done—don’t touch your
eyes! </span><br />
<br style="font-family: Franklin Gothic Book;" />
<span style="font-family: "franklin gothic book";">Peppers are also
delicious roasted. They can be grilled with tongs over a gas burner
until blistered and the skin starts to blacken, or in the broiler:
simply put cut pepper halves on a cookie sheet and roast. The best way
to peel the skin is to then place the peppers in a bowl covered with
plastic wrap, or in a paper bag. Steam for about 15 minutes, and then
peel the skin off with your fingers (or a knife if they’re too hot). </span><br />
<span style="font-family: "franklin gothic book";">Peppers can also be
stuffed, or sautéed—peppers are a delicious addition to a stir-fry.
Peppers also pair well with meat, like a classic Italian sausage and
peppers dish, or with steak. Some like to puree peppers into dips, like
hummus, or into soups</span><br />

<p class="MsoNormal"><big><span
style="font-family: "Kalinga",sans-serif;">A high-quality
extra virgin olive oil is a must-have staple in many kitchens, partly
because its
delicious flavor and versatile nature allow it to be used in countless
ways.
For starters, extra virgin olive oil is perfect in homemade salad
dressings, on
roasted vegetables and as a key ingredient in a wide range of recipes. <o:p></o:p></span></big></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><big><span
style="font-family: "Kalinga",sans-serif;"><o:p> </o:p>In
addition
to tasting great, olive oil is also good for you. Naturally low in
saturated
fat, it is a healthy alternative to butter, margarine and many other
oils. Versatility,
great taste and a healthy profile make it easy to see why many cooks
and chefs
always have a bottle close at hand. <o:p></o:p></span></big></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><big><span
style="font-family: "Kalinga",sans-serif;">What many
people do not realize about olive oil, however, is that it is actually
a
perishable fruit juice with some finicky preferences. This mean proper
care and
precautions must be taken in order to keep your olive tasting and
smelling the
way it should. <o:p></o:p></span></big></p>

perishable fruit juice, olive does not have an unlimited shelf life.
Try to choose bottles with a clearly marked “harvest date” and make
sure that date occurred within the last 18 months to 2 years. It is
also recommended that you only buy as much olive oil as you can use
within 15 – 30 days of opening. </span></big></li>
<li class="MsoNormalCxSpMiddle" style=""><big><b

near your oven or cooktop because the higher ambient heat in those
areas will cause it to break down faster. <br style="">

<li class="MsoNormalCxSpMiddle" style=""><big><b

storing your olive in clear bottles or out on your counter tops. Dark
green bottles are the best for blocking out sunlight, but other dark
bottles will also work. Storing bottles inside a cabinet when not in

your best bet to prolong the life of your oil. <o:p></o:p></span></big></li>

<title>Cooking Project with the kids</title>

<body>
<br>
<span style="font-family: Helvetica,Arial,sans-serif;">One
of the challenges of a snow storm is keeping the kids busy. Between the
games, the movies and perhaps playing in the snow, cook with your kids.<br>
Here are a few recipes to try. Also one for homemade play dough.<br>
<br>
Start with this simple soup recipe<br>
<br>

Noodle Soup</a></big><br>

<br>
<big>Make use of the snow for a tasty treat!</big><br>

<p style="font-family: Helvetica,Arial,sans-serif;"
class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-weight: bold;">Snow
Ice Cream</span> <o:p></o:p></p>
<p style="font-family: Helvetica,Arial,sans-serif;"
class="MsoNormal">For this recipe you’ll need clean fresh
snow. You can either
collect it as it falls in a bowl or choose the best place to collect
clean
house outside our house.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p style="font-family: Helvetica,Arial,sans-serif;"
class="MsoNormal">This is a classic recipe that works really
well because the
sweetened condensed milk is thick and helps hold quickly melting snow
together.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p style="font-family: Helvetica,Arial,sans-serif;"
class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-weight: bold;">Ingredients</span><o:p></o:p></p>
<ul>
<li style="font-family: Helvetica,Arial,sans-serif;">1
gallon or big bowl of clean snow <o:p></o:p></li>
<li style="font-family: Helvetica,Arial,sans-serif;">1
14-oz can of sweetened condensed milk<o:p></o:p></li>
<li><span style="font-family: Helvetica,Arial,sans-serif;">1

<p style="font-family: Helvetica,Arial,sans-serif;"
class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-weight: bold;">Directions</span><o:p></o:p></p>
<p style="font-family: Helvetica,Arial,sans-serif;"

snow ice cream. <o:p></o:p></p>
<p style="font-family: Helvetica,Arial,sans-serif;"
class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-weight: bold;">Note</span>:
The condensed milk works well because of its thick
texture. <span style=""> </span></p>
<p style="font-family: Helvetica,Arial,sans-serif;"

condense milk use heavy cream, soy milk or milk.</p>

Popcorn has always been one of my favorite snacks. Making a fresh batch
of popcorn is easy. Sometimes I use the air popper and other times I
place popcorn kernels in a pot with oil and a lid over medium heat on
the stove. <br>
Have you ever wonder what makes popcorn pop? Check out this video then

Cool Ranch Popcorn<br>
Serves
4
Yield: 8-10 cups<br>
<br>
Ingredients<br>
1 tablespoon canola oil<br>
1/2 cup popcorn kernels<br>
4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted<br>

1 1/2 teaspoons dried parsley<br>
3/4 teaspoon onion powder<br>
3/4 teaspoon garlic salt<br>
1/4 teaspoon chili powder<br>
1/4 teaspoon dried dill<br>
<br>
Directions<br>
In a large saucepan, stir together the oil and popcorn kernels. Cover
and cook over medium heat just until you hear the kernels begin to pop,
3 to 5 minutes. Tilt the lid slightly, allowing steam to escape. Cook
until the popping slows, about 2 minutes. Remove from the heat and let
stand until the popping stops, about 30 seconds.<br>
Mix buttermilk powder and spices with melted butter and drizzle over
popcorn. Mix to coat.<br>

<br>
Peanut Butter & Jelly Popcorn<br>
Serves 6 – 8 <br>
<br>
Ingredients<br>
12 cups popped popcorn (approx. ½ cup of popcorn kernels)<br>
⅔ cup peanut butter (creamy or chunky)<br>
⅔ cup jelly (grape, strawberry, etc.)<br>
⅛ teaspoon salt<br>
<br>
Directions<br>
Heat oven to 200 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with
parchment paper. Spray parchment paper with<br>
cooking spray. Spread out popcorn on baking sheet, in one layer, but
it's ok if it overlaps a bit. If necessary, use a second 2nd baking
sheet.<br>
In a small saucepan, combine peanut butter, jelly and salt over medium
heat, stirring constantly, until<br>
mixture begins to boil. Remove from heat.<br>
Drizzle some of mixture over popcorn and with a spoon or spatula,
gently combine popcorn with mixture. Continue to drizzle mixture over
popcorn and combine them until all of the mixture has been used and<br>
pretty much all popcorn has coating. Spread mixture out again so it's
in one layer as much as possible.<br>
Bake for 30 minutes in the oven, stirring popcorn every 10 minutes.
Remove from oven and allow to cool completely. Serve immediately or
store in an airtight container.<br>

and cookies, but used to create a variety of savory dishes. </span><br

<span style="font-family: Helvetica,Arial,sans-serif;">Oats
start from the same grains, but they are cut differently. Oats can be

<p style="font-family: Helvetica,Arial,sans-serif;"
class="MsoNormal">Rolled Oats are whole oats that have been
steamed, rolled lengthwise into a flat grain, steamed again then
toasted. They look like big flakes. Then there are quick
oats, which are rolled oats that have been ground up a little bit more
to make them cook faster. Quick oats are quick; whole rolled oats take
a bit longer. The cooking time can be from 1 -6 minutes.<br>

<p style="font-family: Helvetica,Arial,sans-serif;"
class="MsoNormal">Steel cut oats are the whole raw oat that
have been cut into smaller chunks. Steel cut oats look like a whole oat
cut in half. So the steel cut oats definitely look like a freshly
picked oat from the farm. Once cook steal oats look like rice. Steel
cut oats have a sort of “nutty” flavor that rolled oats lack. They have
a hearty texture in which you’ll chew every bite. The cooking time for
Steel oats is about 20 – 30 minutes. Don’t fret there are quick cooking
Steel Oats available. <br>

<head>
<title></title>
</head>
<body>
<br />
<div style="text-align: left;">
<<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-1IB5NdrJaqU/VU7b9G1ytKI/AAAAAAAACUM/Xj86frmUCUY/s1600/melon-5.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-1IB5NdrJaqU/VU7b9G1ytKI/AAAAAAAACUM/Xj86frmUCUY/s320/melon-5.jpg" /></a></div>
<br style="font-family: Arial;" />
</div>
<span style="font-family: Arial;">Cantaloupe is one of the
most popular melons in America. While cantaloupe is deeply
loved by so many, it's equally disappointing when you get a cantaloupe
that either isn't ripe yet or has passed its prime. So to make sure you
don't suffer from this disappointment, here are some tips for choosing
the best cantaloupe.</span><br />
<br style="font-family: Arial;" />
<span style="font-family: Arial;">* When picking out the
perfect cantaloupe, you want to use your senses. Let's start with
sight. Look at the color of your cantaloupe. You want one that has more
yellow tones to it. Pay close attention to the colors between the
webbed portion of the cantaloupe. If it's still green it's not ripe; it
was picked too soon.<br />
<br style="font-family: Arial;" />
</span><span style="font-family: Arial;">* Look for
a mark on the side of the melon that is flat and is slightly different
in color. This is the side which was on the ground and did not see sun.
</span><br style="font-family: Arial;" />
<span style="font-family: Arial;">* Listen - Now you need
to give the melon a little listen. Holding it in your hand, knock a few
times on the side of the cantaloupe. If it's deep and thick, then you
have a good dense and full cantaloupe. If it has a high-pitched sound,
then it isn't ripe.</span><br />
<br style="font-family: Arial;" />
<span style="font-family: Arial;">* Feel - You need to
know how the cantaloupe feels in your hands too. You want it to be
firm, but not too firm. Squeeze it gently on its ends. If there's some
give to it, it's good. However, if it's mushy and wet then it's past
its prime. If it's too hard with no give then it's not a ripe
cantaloupe.</span><br />
<br style="font-family: Arial;" />
<span style="font-family: Arial;">* Smell - This might be
the most important of your senses when choosing the perfect cantaloupe.
You want one that is very aromatic and sweet smelling. The sweeter, the
better. If you don't smell any a</span><span style="font-family: Arial;">roma, then the cantaloupe is not
ripe. If it's an unpleasant odor, then it's no good. If you do nothing
else but smell, then you should still be able to find the most
flavorsome cantaloupe possible.</span><br />
<br style="font-family: Arial;" />
<span style="font-family: Arial;">* Taste it! Of course
this isn't something you can do in the grocery store or at the market,
but clearly the best way to tell if a cantaloupe is at its freshest is
by tasting it. Hopefully you have used your other senses in the ways
described above so you don't get a mouthful of tasteless cantaloupe.
That would be a big disappointment.</span><br />
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-E2zG_Y3An20/VU7b5qOCaLI/AAAAAAAACUE/QvPJoc7d0d4/s1600/7704588078_32fb0c446c.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-E2zG_Y3An20/VU7b5qOCaLI/AAAAAAAACUE/QvPJoc7d0d4/s320/7704588078_32fb0c446c.jpg" /></a></div>
<br absolute="" and="" arial="" be="" bears.="" cantaloupe.="" cantaloupe="" don="" enough.="" firm="" font-family:="" found="" goldilocks="" green="" have="" he="" is="" it="" just="" know="" needs="" not="" nursery="" or="" out="" perfect="" picking="" remember="" rhyme="" right.="" smelling="" soft.="" span="" strong="" style="font-family: Arial </div> <span style=;" t="" that="" the="" then="" thing="" three="" to="" too="" want="" when="" will="" yellow.="" you="" /><br />
<br style="font-family: Arial;" />
<span style="font-family: Arial;">The thing when picking
out the perfect cantaloupe is to remember the nursery rhyme Goldilocks
and the Three Bears. You don't want it too firm or too soft. You don't
want it too green or too yellow. You don't want it too strong smelling
or not smelling enough. It needs to be just right. Then you will know
that you have found the absolute perfect cantaloupe.</span><br />
<br style="font-family: Arial;" />
Also remember, once a
cantaloupe is picked from the vine it will not get any riper than it is
at that moment it was picked. So don't buy a slightly unripe
cantaloupe thinking that if you give it a few days it will get better.</div>

ingredients together starting with the avocado. Be sure to mash your avo’s well
with a potato masher. Heat the oil in a skillet to about 350 to 365°. Add the pita breads
one at a time. Once hot, the pita bread will begin to puff up. Look for pita
bread that </span></span><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;">isn't</span><span style="font-family: Arial;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;"> pre-sliced. Unfortunately, even if it </span></span>isn't<span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">, you may find some
holes or splits, if you do, take the back of a metal spatula, and hold it over
the opening, as this helps the pita puff up. Continue to turn the pita until
browned. Slice the pita in half and stuff the avocado and chicken mixture
inside the pita. You may want to use a paper towel or oven mitt, as the pita
bread will be quite hot. <o:p></o:p></span></span></span></div>
